What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • High School diploma, required
  • One (1) year secretarial experience,  required
  • One (1) year secretarial experience in a school setting, preferred
  • Trade/Vocational/Secretarial School certificate, preferred
  • Post-secondary secretarial or office management training is desirable

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The School Secretary provides administrative support services and prepares and maintains various records and correspondence in a confidential manner.  Preparing billing records performing other assorted typing, filing and clerical tasks at the direction of the principal for effective management of the special education department.  Handling extensive personal and confidential information is an essential job function of this position.  Schedules and verifies appointments as directed and maintains office calendar.  Prepare message boards, displays and bulletin boards as directed.  Update special education handbooks, fact sheets and forms.  Maintain an inventory of test protocols, due process forms, process scoring and transcription of student assessment information.  Process a list of all special education placements and all IEP’s.  Tracks out-of-district student enrolled in district special education programs. Monitor and order office supplies to maintain reliable service levels.

Division/Program Overview:

  • A comprehensive mental health in patient residential facility for adolescents
  • Serving up to 60 adolescents (ranging from ages 12-17) statewide
  • Intensive residential services dedicated to serving clients with serious mental health problems with the highest dignity and quality of services since 1988
  • Programs: Psychiatric Health Facility, Community Treatment Facility and Non-Public High School – 24/7 locked facility
  • Multidisciplinary Mental Health Services, Therapeutic Behavioral Health Services, and Intensive Day Treatment Program
