What you bring to SBHG:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing and Associate degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • One (1) year direct service experience treating the mentally ill preferred
  • One (1) year supervisory experience in a behavioral health facility preferred
  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in California (CA)
  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS CPR certification required
  • Valid California Driver’s License

How you will make a difference:

The Nursing Department Supervisor ensures that each Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) client receives the nursing care, treatment, medications and diet, which have been ordered by the attending physician/psychiatric nurse practitioner and ensures the overall quality of licensed nursing care for the CWIC facility. S/he participates in budget development for the Nursing Department and is responsible for its implementation and management. S/he selects, hires and supervises all staff in the Nursing Department. Aids in the development and maintaining of service objectives, standards of nursing practice, nursing policy and procedure manuals and written job descriptions for all nursing personnel. Maintains on-going leadership that is in alignment with agency and program. Maintains and perpetuates departmental adherence to governmental entities and other stakeholders and policies and regulations. Collaborates with external and internal departments and agencies to facilitate the smooth operation of the facility, adherence to regulating entities policies and optimal patient care.

Division/Program Overview:

The Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) is a voluntary program offered on a 24/7 basis in an unlocked setting with a stay of up to 23 hours. The center provides important services to those in need of immediate crisis intervention and stabilization.

Services include:

  • Rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention
  • All age groups – children, adolescents, adults, and older adults – who need immediate access to crisis mental health services.
  • Individuals admitted into the crisis stabilization unit will be provided with support and services to ensure their safe transition to the next level of care or back to the community.
  • Therapeutic and mental health services
