On-Call Licensed Psychiatric Technician / Licensed Vocational Nurse

Division/Program:

(Youth ages12-17, 24/7 Inpatient) Psychiatric Health Facility

Starting Compensation:

30.00 - 33.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Fresno, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Must be able to provide a minimum of 4 days of On Call Availability/Month. 2 days must fall on a weekend: Fri, Sat or Sun.

What you bring to SBHG:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required.
  • Associate’s degree in nursing or social sciences preferred.
  • (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for work experience)
  • (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
  • A valid California LVN or LPT license is required.

How you will make a difference:

  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Registered Nurse in charge of the facility on the shift and the attending physician.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physician’s orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Responsible for writing daily summary of clients as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in morning rounds, change of shift meetings, and treatment team meetings as scheduled on the assignment sheet.
  • Provides other nursing duties including first aid and medical intervention within scope of licensure as necessary for each individual client.
  • Communicates pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members.
  • Prepares, presents, and coordinates or supervises a verbal or written change of shift report.

Division/Program Overview:

  • 24/7 inpatient involuntary program
  • 16-bed facility for acute youth (ages 12-17)
  • Intensive treatment programs with individualized care plans
  • Available for contracting Central Valley counties
  • Moves clients through five phases: admission; engagement; learning; stabilization and linkage to resources and aftercare
