What you bring to SBHG: 

  • Master's degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, or psychology from an accredited college or university required.
  • (1) year of direct service experience in a mental health setting is required (student internship and/or practicum time may be substituted).
  • Experience in a community-based therapy setting preferred.
  • Mental Health Specialist II: Licensed as AMFT, ACSW, or APCC, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License required.

How you will make a difference: 

  • Identifies immediate risks and needs and develops a plan to address them in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Identifies ongoing treatment needs and develops plans, diagnoses, and updates problem lists as needed.
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings.
  • Uses a “whatever it takes” approach to provide services in various settings, including homes, schools/work, and community and office settings.
  • Uses a personal vehicle to drive to and from off-site locations to provide services. May be required to transport participants in a personal vehicle.
  • Available for 24/7 on-call services to assist in crisis intervention and to provide support for problem resolution. On-call is scheduled on a rotating basis.
  • Documents all services provided clearly and concisely within the Electronic Health Record within the timelines and framework established by Central Star.
  • In collaboration with the team, complete all required reports and documentation for regulatory bodies.

In accordance with California law, the grade for this position is 68,640.00 - 98,178.07. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
