Child Care Worker
CCW shall have the following Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent or GED
- Must have the ability to communicate with adolescents and all other personnel in the facility
- 1 year previous experience supervising adolescent in licensed setting as well as completing 24 units of CEU within the first 6 months of employment
- Must complete 16 additional units for a total of 40 within the first year of employment
- Must be able to obtain a clear to work clearance from a licensed physician and as well as a tuberculosis clearance
- Must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption
- Must have a valid first aid/CPR and Part Training certifications
CCW Staff must perform the following duties:
- Supervise, protect, and care for adolescents, individually and in groups, at all times.
- Assist each adolescent in working with others and in handling individual problems.
- Know and implement Needs and Service Plans objectives and counseling strategies according to behavioral plan, and documenting progress and changes.
- Assist adolescents in improving skills in areas of independent living, grooming, hygiene, communication, recreation, leisure, money management, self-care, food preparation, health, living space organization, chores, school/college work, internet access, computer skills and electronic communication(Email).
- Documentation of progress, identifying needs, notation of skill acquisition and independence.
- Assist in the administration of by mouth medications and documentation. In addition, documenting prescription, ensuring prescriptions are filled and logged in centrally stored medication log.
- Ensure that adolescents rights are protected at all times, provide for the care and safety of the adolescent without verbal and/or physical abuse, exploitation or prejudice to race, religion, or sexual preference or gender identity.
- Accompany adolescents into the community if required, plan and execute activities either group or individually, transporting them to and from work/school if needed.
- Assist in the preparation of snacks and meals in accordance with established menus and nutritional requirements.
- Ensure facility is clean and sanitized at all times, complete all required cleaning duties according to shift checklist and training.
- Recognize early signs of illness from adolescents and or other CCW and communicate to appropriate personnel.
- Report Special Incidents and/or observing evidence of violations of any of the personal rights specified in client rights, this includes suspicion of abuse or neglect, within the time frames established by licensing requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
