JOB SUMMARY: Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers, the agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high-at- risk youth.

The role of the Clinician Intervener – MAT Assessor is to provide multidisciplinary assessments to youth and their families, just after the youth(s) have been detained by DCFS and placed in foster care. They determine whether the youth(s) have mental health needs and provide findings to DCFS that will facilitate a successful foster home experience and improve the chances for reunification with their family. They complete assessments within 30-45 days, summarize their findings in two written reports, and arrange a meeting to present their findings to the family members and DCFS personnel. They provide timely and accurate documentation of their services in the form of progress notes. This role will be achieved in a manner that is behavioral oriented with a strength-based, family-focused, and needs-driven philosophy. This role will also consist of taking on additional clinical cases as required by the program.

 

Job Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Masters’ Degree in related field required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Registered MFT, MSW, APCC, or PsyD. D/Ph. D Intern in California.
  • Licensed or Licensed eligible in the State of California as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or PsyD. D/Ph. D preferred.
  • Must have a valid intern number registered with the state and in good standing.
  • Must maintain valid intern number, registration, and good standing with the state as a condition of employment.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all trainings required by the Agency, federal, state and/or local regulations.
  • DMH experience preferred.
  • Valid California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to use a personal car with appropriate insurance for all Agency business and adhering to federal, state, and local motor vehicle safety standards when transporting children.
  • Fluent in English required.
