Assistant Administrator β Adult Residential Facility
ARF - Adult Residential FacilityFull job description
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Assistant Administrator to help manage a small, established residential home serving four adult men with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands California's residential care system and is interested in growing into a lead administrator role.
The facility is currently managed by an experienced, licensed administrator who will provide guidance and support during the transition. Our goal is to find a dependable, knowledgeable professional who can gradually assume more responsibility and ultimately manage the facility's operations independently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day facility administration and operations.
- Maintain accurate resident files, progress notes, and required documentation.
- Prepare semiannual reports and coordinate annual reviews and Individual Program Plan (IPP) meetings.
- Work with Regional Center staff and service coordinators.
- Help coordinate residents' annual physicals and other healthcare appointments.
- Support staff training on Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Final Rule requirements.
- Ensure staff practices promote residents' dignity, rights, independence, and person-centered care.
- Assist with staff oversight and preparation for licensing reviews.
- Gradually take on additional administrative and leadership responsibilities.
Ideal Qualifications
- Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting adults with significant communication or mobility needs.
- Current California ARF Administrator certification strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Dependable, compassionate, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
- Preferred experience working in a California Adult Residential Facility (ARF) or similar developmental disabilities residential program.
- Preferred knowledge of HCBS requirements, Regional Center procedures, and California Title 22 regulations.
Growth Opportunity
We are particularly interested in someone seeking a long-term opportunity to develop into the facility's lead administrator. The successful candidate will receive an introduction to the home's operations and progressively assume more responsibility, with compensation adjusted as the role expands.
