This is a Full-Time (37.5 hours), Non-Exempt Position

Under the supervision of Children’s Home Society of California’s (CHS) Program Manager, the Program Specialist will:

· Work collaboratively with the Bridge Child Care Navigator to identify the needs of children referred by Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles

· Provide technical assistance to existing and potential child care providers

· Provide Trauma-Informed Care Trainings to Child Care Providers

· Provide Coaching Sessions to Bridge Child Care Providers

· Attend meetings and trainings hosted by the Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles and Drew Child Development Corporation

· Represent CHS at designated community outreach events to inform professionals, providers, and families about services

· Work with identified providers to ensure child care services are provided and supporting documentation is complete for payment

· Maintain ongoing referral documentation

· Prepare oral and written reports as needed

· Maintain and ensure data integrity and accuracy for required databases

· Maintain all records in a high-quality manner and within record protection, retention, and destruction guidelines

· Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations

· Work some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to support programming for client services

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Human Development or related field, or Associate’s Degree plus five (5) years of experience required

· Five (5) years of experience working with children and families desired

· Basic knowledge of child development programs available in the community

· Prior non-profit experience preferred

· Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 5 desired

· Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 22 desired

· Excellent verbal presentation skills and ability to display professional decorum in representing the agency in the community

· Proven ability to establish a rapport with parents, providers, and community organizations

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of parents from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds

· Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error-free work

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the agency staff

· Proactive self-motivator with a professional, positive, and flexible attitude

· Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

· Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic

· Ability to work independently and be accessible while teleworking

· Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment

· Commitment to CHS’s core mission and values, and an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners

· Bilingual skills in Spanish desired

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

· Ability to travel via air and surface transportation, including travel between multiple offices

SALARY SCALE:

Entry level pay for this position is $24.00 per hour; the full pay scale is $24.00 to $28.08. Advancement on pay scale is based on qualifications, such as experience and education, and eventual job performance. Excellent benefits are provided including 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision premium coverage for eligible employees and their eligible dependents and 10% pension plan contribution for eligible employees.
