Job Description

OTH is a licensed Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) located in Nuevo, California. We are seeking a qualified, licensed mental health professional to serve as our Head of Service (HOS).

The Head of Service will provide clinical leadership, oversee mental health services, supervise clinical operations, and ensure compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) requirements.

We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and experienced professional who can provide strong clinical oversight and ensure timely completion of all required documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery and coordination of mental health services for youth residing in the STRTP.
• Develop, review, and oversee individualized Needs and Services Plans.
• Provide clinical guidance, consultation, and support to direct care staff.
• Coordinate with county behavioral health departments, therapists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other treatment providers.
• Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings (CFTMs), treatment planning, and case reviews.
• Ensure clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Provide crisis intervention guidance and support behavioral management strategies.
• Monitor youth progress, treatment goals, and service effectiveness.
• Support regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities.
• Assist with staff training and the implementation of trauma-informed care practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active California LMFT or LCSW license required for this opening.
• Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, and crisis management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Must meet all applicable California STRTP Head of Service qualification and employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head of Service in an STRTP.
• Experience with Medi-Cal specialty mental health services.
• Familiarity with Riverside University Health System – Behavioral Health (RUHS-BH).
• Knowledge of CANS assessments, treatment planning, and county documentation requirements.
• Experience supervising clinical staff and supporting residential treatment programs.

Compensation and Schedule

Pay: $40.00 per hour

• Full-time position (40 hours per week).
• Monday–Friday schedule, with flexibility based on program needs.
• On-site position in Nuevo, California.
