Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant/Accounts Payable is responsible for the full cycle of Accounts Payable in accordance with the Agency’s Accounting Policy.
Essential Functions:
- Processes Agency accounts payable, expenditures and reimbursement requests. Inputs approved invoices for payment in accordance with the Agency’s accounting
practices and generate payments as needed. - Facilitates global bookkeeper work team; provides training and support for site bookkeepers and staff accountants in order to facilitate accounts payable activities and
timely payment of invoices as established within Agency plans. - Upholds the Victor Administration Mission Statement by endeavoring to serve all customers, both internal and external, by providing valuable expertise, proactive
guidance and exceeding expectations through effective and flexible teamwork. - Complies with the Agency’s personnel standards for behavior in the workplace, and the Agency’s Safety Plan for the protection of employees while on the job.
- Completes other tasks as indicated on Accounts Payable task list.
- Generates, inputs, and distributes Agency recurring bills (Example - Rents); updates property leases; and tracks independent contracts.
- Files all accounts payable receipts for administrative office and sites.
- Performs monthly audits of site payables and produces monthly audit forms in accordance with the Agency’s Accounting Policy.
- Prepares annual business property tax statements and welfare exemptions.
- Audits and assures accounting systems are in place in each site.
- Reconciles Equipment Leases to the general ledger at month end.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Candidate will need to work in a team environment and have a customer service disposition for providing support to all of the stakeholders in the agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting or business related field. Four years of accounting experience may substitute for Bachelors’ degree.
- Must be organized, have general knowledge of accounting principles, and possess
basic knowledge of the English language. - Must possess above average skills and aptitude of MS Excel.
- Must possess strong people skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Must possess good communication and phone skills.
Position/Site Requirements:
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license, personal automobile insurance, and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
- Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a
Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening test. - Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
- Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.
Pay Range: $24.63 - $33.86 DOE
